The Great Family Conversations
Tool Kit

A FAMILY COMMUNICATION GAME

Benefits for Your Community

This is a tested family intervention. After over a year of testing its effectiveness and appeal to families, the First Lady of Wyoming (Governor's Wife) used the Great Family Conversations Tool Kit statewide for National Family Night on September 26, 2005. After distributing over 6,000 copies to strengthen Wyoming families and combat a number of social problems, the same social agency purchased a third license to produce and distribute 3,000 more copies in January 2009. That was years after they stopped actively promoting it. So far, Wyoming has had families requesting and using it for over 5 years.

This is what will be given away free to families.  600 dialogue conversation starters on 6 heavy cardstock paper grids with the instruction booklet "Successful Family Dialogue". The game is played with dice families have at home.

Colors above are fairly accurate. Colors below are not, unfortunately. We ask you to stick to the colors generally, as closely as possible.

Examples:  "On vacation I would most like to . . . "     "After a hectic day I like to . . ."

Examples: "What is your favorite movie? Why?"      "What is your favorite sound to listen to? Why?"

Examples:  "Where would you ride on a magic flying carpet?"     "What kind of a person would you like to be?"

Example:  "Tell a memory about or involving a grandmother, something confusing, or a ball."

Examples:  "What makes you feel frustrated?"      "What makes you feel confident?"

Examples:  "What would you bury in a time capsule?"      "What event would you like to live over again?"

It is given away free enclosed in a clear plastic zip-lock bag.
